In 1988, she moved back home to Rhode Island and began working for a large optical company pursuing her career and apprenticeship. Two years later she was offered a job in a private practice. Ellen was able to acquire her Optician's License in Rhode Island.

In 1996, she worked part time while taking care of her new family.

In 2010, Ellen started working full time but missed working in a private practice. She began working with William F. Varr III MD in February 2012. Dr. Varr and the staff at Kent Ophthalmology welcomed her to the family as the optician at Kent Optical.

With over 25 years' experience as a licensed optician, Ellen is a vital part of the complete care approach at Kent Ophthalmology. She offers quality eyewear and professional service with over 400 frames ranging from a variety of designers while also stocking budget-friendly frames. She is happy to evaluate your prescription and help you with frame selection to fit your visual needs.
